Four-day Seminar with actress Efi Stamouli

How can the poetic discourse and the great emotions of classical texts (Euripides and Shakespeare) be articulated or interpreted in small-scale spaces? How can the “size” and poetics of a non-everyday discourse be maintained in a communication, on the one hand high-temperature and, on the other, low-key and “everyday immediacy”?

Scope of application: two monologues: the opening monologue of Jocasta from Euripides’ The Phoenicians, translated by Nikiforos Papandreou, and Hamlet’s monologue to the actors in the second scene from the third act of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, translated by Giorgos Heimonas.

The seminar with Efi Stamouli is aimed at Theatre professionals, graduates and students of Drama Schools as well as people with significant previous theatre experience (a brief description of previous experience is required in the participation form).
