Skg_Art Academy is the most comprehensive form of artistic education that exists in the city. The Academy focuses on contemporary artistic practice concerning performing arts and their education, with an emphasis on creative learning, interdisciplinarity, good practices, and modern methods in the field of arts teaching and aesthetic education.
At the Academy, children experiment and are educated in Performing and Fine Arts. The program is divided into four departments, according to the child’s age. In each department, the units are adapted to the developmental level and age of the students.
Subjects:
Theater – Theater education, Theatrical play, Acting, Speech therapy
Music – Music education/Preparatory, Musical instruments, Singing, Elocution
Dance – Movement, stage presence (stage combat, tai chi), modern dance, etc.
Visual Arts – Constructions, Set design, Costume design
The goal is for children to break free from guided thinking and functioning. To let their imagination run free, which with the help of conditions given during the lessons, and thus limitations, can flourish.
The work is carried out in two cycles.
During the First Cycle, the educational material is applied in such a way that children develop skills, get to know each art and its techniques, organize common communication codes, and above all, integrate artistic education and upbringing into their behavioral needs. It is very important for all of us to work with the group for the group, to create a climate of safety and trust, where however each child individually can express themselves freely, consciously and unconsciously seek themselves, and unlock each time another aspect that will complete their personality.
After the first cycle is completed, the educators will choose to work more specifically and organizedly to create a theatrical result. Usually, children do not know the theatrical work they are working on, and this is because they search for information, watch videos or images from other performances, read the text, resulting in creating thoughts and images that “lock” inside them and influence them in free play and improvisation. In all lessons, the approach is such that children, either individually or in groups, create small projects and scenes working inventively. So when they are finally given the work and recognize the plot, dialogues, and composition in what they will have already prepared, they feel surprise and satisfaction simultaneously. This entire process leads to a performance where children have prepared everything by themselves.
This process creates emotionally strong children within groups that last over time. It helps children develop their kinesiological references, improve and strengthen their communication methods, increase their self-esteem and confidence, process reality in a different way. It doesn’t create strong groups with arrogant children who believe in their uniqueness and exclusive importance of their work, but groups that respect other groups and children who are capable of recognizing difficulty, need, and difference around them.
