Music pedagogy is a program through which children will discover the magic of music and relate to each other. Both music and song, storytelling, movement, painting, and other creative activities will help them flourish together as a group, but also as distinct personalities. Music is the means, while the purpose is for children to feel beautiful through discovery, improvisation, and creation.
In each lesson, a different musical instrument will be presented to the children. The teacher will bring the instrument to the space so that children experience learning both auditorily and sensorially.
Each session will begin with a welcome song and end with a farewell song. This way there will be stability in the program, which will help children feel secure.
Tools in this journey include storytelling fairy tales about musical instruments, with meanings about friendship, love, joy, disappointment, and emotions.
Painting will function as a complementary tool: children will draw the musical instrument or the fairy tale story as they understood and imagined it through their own filter. Some instruments, such as percussion (e.g., maracas, tambourine), may occupy us more and will be able to have a more stable presence in the lesson.
The goal is for children to participate in a pleasant activity that combines music and play, which will develop them emotionally and give them the tools and equipment for the transition from preschool to school life, being happy children.
