Doll Making

In the handmade doll workshop, participants will learn about the materials/tools needed to make a doll, how to design their own doll pattern—approximately 30 centimeters—on paper and transfer it to fabric. They will be trained to hand-sew the doll’s pattern, stuff it with polyester fiber, attach the doll’s limbs to its body, and close the openings with thread. Additionally, they will need to transfer the facial features from paper onto the doll’s face and make simple embroidery stitches to embroider its features. Part of the process involves cutting the doll’s hair and sewing it onto its head. Finally, they will learn a simple dress pattern to clothe their doll.
Note: If participants wish, the sewing of the pattern for the body and limbs of the doll as well as the dress can be done with a sewing machine by the workshop instructor. The workshop does not include training in learning how to use a sewing machine.
Cost: €180
To reserve a spot, a 50% prepayment of the total cost is required, with the balance due on the start date.
In case of cancellation by the participant, the deposit is non-refundable. For cancellations of classes by Lemon Art Studio, the full amount paid will be refunded.
The Colour of the Short Story

Short stories by Greek and foreign writers give us the opportunity to talk about basic colors, explore them, and create with materials such as brushes, tempera paints, pencils, and papers.
Each week, at our meeting, we read a short story. A brief discussion follows, and we try to find the images that the text creates in the participants. We will give particular emphasis to colors, as they play a leading role in each story, as well as those that are created as impressions through reading.
In each meeting, one color will be the protagonist. We will see its properties, and then participants will experiment in practice by creating, each time, a different color palette that they can, if they wish, relate to impressions from the preceding story.
The classes are aimed at adults who love literature and would simultaneously like to have a visual experience based on exploring colors and their properties.
Previous visual arts involvement is not necessary to attend the seminar. The love for the short story form and the willingness to experiment with colors are sufficient.
